Mountain Meadow Wool is dedicated to creating a textile supply chain that is entirely made in the US, prioritizes the health of the sheep and of the land, and creates a fair wage for the ranchers. Their yarn comes from fiber that is sourced in Wyoming from Rambouillet, Cormo, Targhee, Merino and Columbia sheep. The spinning happens at their mill in Buffalo, Wyoming, where they use bio-degradable soaps and non-petroleum spinning oil to keep the process natural. They recycle more than 50% of the water used in scouring the fiber. The process is 100% traceable, with the name of the ranch where the fiber originated marked on every skein! |
