SHIPPING

In general, within the U. S., smaller boxes go through the mail, while heavier and more valuable parcels travel by UPS.  If your shipping address is within the 48 contiguous states and you allow us to choose the most economical method for your package, the shipping will follow the schedule below, based on the merchandise total of your order.  Shipping charges apply to each address in orders shipped to more than one address.  The schedule below is for orders within the 48 contiguous states.

For shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Canada, we ship via the postal service. Actual shipping and insurance costs apply, with a minimum of $5.75.  We will contact you with the shipping methods and costs before shipping your order.

For orders of $3000.01 or more, we charge the actual shipping, including insurance. That means that we won't know what the shipping is until we have the box packed and on the scale.  (The amount shown on your checkout page is just an estimate.)   For larger boxes, UPS is almost always the more economical choice, so be sure to include your street address.  Remember, harness looms, drum carders, and most spinning wheels ship free.

If you require a specific shipping method that is not the most economical, (for example, only UPS, even if Priority Mail is cheaper) we are happy to accommodate you, but we will increase the shipping charge as necessary.

If you need expedited shipping, we offer UPS 3-Day Select, 2nd-Day Air, and Next Day Air shipping.  Rates for these are higher (Next Day Air, for example, generally starts at around $40 for even a small package).  If you need one of these faster services, please place your order by phone rather than ordering on the website.  We can make sure we have what you need in stock, estimate when it will ship, and determine which shipping method will work best for you.

Remember!  We pay the shipping on most spinning wheels (Schacht-Reeves and Lendrum Saxony excepted), drum carders, and looms with four or more harnesses as long as they can ship to a street address (not a PO Box) within the 48 contiguous states.  Outside that area, we pay a portion of the shipping.
