BEGINNING KNITTING FOR KIDS—First Hat

Is your child interested in knitting but you're not sure where to begin?  This is the perfect class!  They will learn the basic techniques of casting on, binding off, seaming, and the knit stitch while they make their first hat.  You will need to buy one skein bulky weight yarn (we recommend Vintage Chunky), straight knitting needles size 10or 11, and tapestry needle for seaming.  Recommended age: 8 and up.  By Debbie Matthias.

Crochet is a great introduction for kids to get into the fiber arts.  They will learn the basic techniques of making a chain, seaming, and the single crochet stitch while they make their first hat.  You will need to purchase one skein bulky weight yarn (we recommend Vintage Chunky), crochet hook size 9 mm.  Recommended age: 8 and up.  By Debbie Matthias.

·         All class enrollments must include payment.

·         Students must be 16 years or older to sign up for classes unless they are specifically kids’ classes.

·         Unless otherwise noted, cancellations must be made 3 days prior to class starting to receive a refund or store credit.

·         Yarn Barn will cancel a class 3 days prior to class start if the enrollment is below the minimum number; refunds will be issued.

·         Unless noted, materials are not included in the class fee; we have a recommended list of supplies for each class.

·         Students will receive a discount off most yarns during the class period.
