INTRODUCTION TO CROCHET FOR KIDS

Crochet is a great introduction for kids to get into the fiber arts. They will learn the basic techniques of making a chain, single crochet, and double crochet by making a simple granny square. You will need to purchase 1-2 skeins of worsted weight yarn (we recommend Encore) and a G hook. Recommended age: 8 and up. By Debbie Matthias.

KIDS' INTERMEDIATE KNIT & CROCHET CLASSES

The classes listed below are suitable for kids who have been actively knitting or crocheting and would like to expand their technical skills.

INTERMEDIATE KIDS' KNITTING-Crossbody Bag

Have you taken the beginner's class and feel ready to stretch your skills? Come make a cute bag with us. We will learn mirrored increase and decrease stitches and an I-cord edge as you go. This is a class for kids who have mastered a basic cast on, bind off, the knit stitch and are ready for more challenging technical stitches. Recommended ages 8 and up. By Rebecca Cook.

INTERMEDIATE KIDS' CROCHET-County Fair Chicken

Have you been following videos online for crochet projects but still feeling a little stumped on how to follow a written pattern? Make yourself a flock of chickens and learn to read written crochet patterns. You will learn seamless color changes, turning a circle into a square shape, how to seam crochet, and add decorative features onto a completed crochet piece. This class is for kids who can make basic crochet stitches without assistance and are ready to learn more. Recommended ages 8 and up. By Rebecca Cook.

• Students must be 16 years or older to sign up for classes unless they are specifically kids' classes.
• Unless otherwise noted, cancellations must be made 3 days prior to class starting to receive a refund or store credit.
• Yarn Barn will cancel a class 3 days prior to class start if the enrollment is below the minimum number; refunds will be issued.
• Unless noted, materials are not included in the class fee; we have a recommended list of supplies for each class.
• Students will receive a discount off most yarns during the class period.
