Learn how to use a top or bottom whorl spindle to transform spinning fiber into yarn.  This beginning level class focuses on how to manage your fiber and spindle to make a continuous thread.  We will cover basic spinning terms, getting started, what to do with your spun yarn, and making 2-ply yarn.   Fiber will be provided in class. Learn how to roll a puni from cotton sliver and spin it on a tahkli, a metal supported spindle from India.  We will provide the cotton fiber; you will need to purchase a tahkli ($32) and a spinning bowl (a teacup saucer will work in a pinch).  Spinning experience is required.  You need to be able to spin singles unassisted on a spindle or wheel to take this class.  By Caitlin Wilson.

In this beginning class you will learn how a spinning wheel works and how to manage your spinning fiber to make yarn.  The focus of this beginning class is to get you comfortable using a spinning wheel and making your first handspun yarn.  All materials and wheels provided.  By Audrey Lintner.

         All class enrollments must include payment.

         Students must be 16 years or older to sign up for classes unless they are specifically kidsí classes.

        Unless otherwise noted, cancellations must be made 3 days prior to class starting to receive a refund unless we are threading a loom for you, the last day to cancel will be stated otherwise.

         Yarn Barn will cancel a class 3 days prior to class start if the enrollment is below the minimum number; refunds will be issued.

         Unless noted, materials are not included in the class fee; we have a recommended list of supplies for each class.

         Students will receive a discount off most yarns during the class period.
