We've had a lot of requests for a dyed cotton yarn that is thick enough as a single-strand weft for placemats or even rugs. We found this recycled fiber blend marketed as a knitting and crochet yarn but we could see its potential for weaving! It has an unusual construction--it is a knitted tube that is made around a finer knitted tube core. The yarn is 80% cotton and 20% polyester, and is sturdy, so it can hold up to frequent laundering or even being walked on. After washing, it is surprisingly soft and flexible.
