Need a wedding present or a hostess gift? 5/2 perle woven in a monk's belt variation makes a set of four pretty towels. In this case, the monk's belt is turned, so it is a supplementary warp rather than a supplementary weft, In addition, some of the stripes are threaded on opposites, without the plain weave background underneath, for a slight textural difference. The 5/2 perle has a nice sheen, for a more formal towel, and instructions are given for optional hemstitching, making a refined finished edge. The warp is sett at 16 epi in the plain weave areas and 32 epi in the pattern sections. The kit makes four towels with finished dimensions of 12.5" x 20" plus fringe. They can be machine washed and dried.

• 4 harnesses
• 8 dent reed
• 270 heddles
• 1 boat shuttle and bobbin
• 16" or longer pick up stick
