At Yarn Barn, we love a good overshot design. This one combines some beautiful curves with a manageable treadling sequence. With overshot, you are weaving with two shuttles. One carries a fine weft that makes a plain weave ground cloth and the other holds a heavier supplemental weft that creates the decorative pattern. Together, they make a lovely fabric that has some weight--perfect for setting fragile glassware to drain or wiping dry a big sheet cake pan. The warp is 8/2 unmercerized cotton sett at 16 epi. This is also the tabby weft. The pattern weft is 5/2 Perle Cotton. The kit makes 3 hemmed towels with finished measurements of 13.5" x 20". The towels can be machine washed and dried.
