The 16/2 Bamboo is a fabulous choice for lightweight scarves and shawls. It has the same sheen and drape as the 8/2 Bamboo but it is half the thickness. Rayon takes dye very well, so the colors are deep and rich. We have a sample in the store that uses 16/2 Bamboo in plain weave and the resulting fabric is surprisingly elastic. Use it in a scarf or shawl and it gives the look of silk but at a much lower price. You can also consider it for table linens or dishtowels. Use a hemmed edge instead of a fringed one and it will hold up much better to repeated washing. Just remember that this yarn is fine and somewhat delicate, so it requires some experience with this type of yarn to minimize broken threads. Even tension and controlled draw-in are the keys.
