Jean Scorgie of Weaver’s Craft has created a grid of basket weave outlining squares of twill. This project is easy for the beginner because it has an easy-to-remember treadling sequence and uses only one shuttle. Woven in 8/2 cotton, sett at 20 epi, the warp is white with a different color for the weft on each towel. You will make four towels with finished measurements of 12" x 18.5". They can be machine washed and dried.

We've created a kit for this project using white for the warp and Cerise, Blue, Green Aqua, and Light Orange for the wefts (see detail photo above). If you would like these colors, simply order the kit above. If you would like to choose your own colors of 8/2 cotton, order the kit and then note the five colors you want in the box above. Please click here to see the colors. If you already have issue 17 of Weaver's Craft, please tell us in the box above. We'll leave it out of your kit and reduce the price.
