The weaving class listed below is designed for those who have threaded a 4-harness loom, can follow a draft, and weave independently.
Double the Fun Runner
Dec. 13-14 (Sat.-Sun.) 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. 2 days
Marguerite Davison's A Handweaver's Pattern Book quotes a 19th century weaver in writing about twill treadlings, "Sometimes tweeling is employed for strength, but more frequently for the display of color". We came up with this dynamic design as a way to display color and to see how, when colors converge and alternate, three distinct patterns come through with the use of rosepath and straight twill drafts. We will wind your warps and sley through the reed using 3/2 Perle cotton yarn. You will thread the heddles, beam, tie-on, and weave a runner that will measure approximately 12.5" x 48.75" plus twisted fringe. You will need to pre-purchase your yarn and have it left at the store at least 1 week before class starts for us to prepare your warp. No refunds or s tore credit for cancellations after Nov. 29 unless we find a replacement for you. By Susan Bateman.
Please purchase your class supplies before the first day of class. You can order it online. Just be sure to include a message that we should hold the yarn at the store to pick up during class.
