The weaving class listed below is designed for those who have threaded a 4-harness loom, can follow a draft, and weave independently.

CLASPED WEFT WEAVING: GRAPHIX RUG

May 23-25 (Fri.-Sun.) 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. 3 days

Clasped weft weaving is a useful technique to know if you don't have a lot of harnesses and want to weave areas of color side-by-side. You will have the opportunity to experiment with your color sense and choose 4 colors of our heavy rug wool for the weft. Since this is an easy draft, you will get the chance to wind your warp and dress the loom using 8/4 carpet warp. You have the option of bringing your own loom to this class. By Bea Bonanno.

Please purchase your class supplies before the first day of class. You can order it online. Just be sure to include a message that we should hold the yarn at the store to pick up during class.

Class supply list:

• 26" wide loom; 4 harnesses
• 12-dent reed
• One tube 8/4 carpet warp (the color should match the main color of your wool weft)
• Rug wool-- 3 skeins of main color, 3 skeins of contrast A, 2 skeins of contrast B, 1 skein of contrast C. Please purchase these skeins at least 1 week prior to the start of class since it needs to be wound into balls.
• 1 flat, rug, or ski shuttle
• boat shuttles and bobbin
• Scissors
• Tape Measure

PARKING: The parking garage is located at 927 New Hampshire Street. Top level parking is free. Level 2 parking is $2.00 to park 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Street level and basement level parking is limited to 2 hours. Pay stations are located at each stairwell on the street level. Sunday parking is free downtown.
