Bluster Bay shuttles are made by hand in York Haven, Pennsylvania. They come in both domestically-harvested woods and internationally-sourced exotic ones. Not only are they beautiful to look at but wonderful to use, with a well-thought-out shape and smooth finish.

The 11" closed bottom shuttle is a side-delivery shuttle. It has a spring-loaded bronze spindle that accepts a 5" bobbin. Bluster Bay recommends Schacht bobbins but other styles work as well. The 11" shuttle has some heft, so it can travel across wider warps without stalling midway. It fits comfortably in your hand and the smooth, satiny wood surface is a pleasure to handle. The closed bottom makes a smooth, flat surface on the bottom of the shuttle to help your shuttle slide through the shed.

Dimensions vary, as each shuttle is hand made, but typical measurements are 10.5-11" long x 1.87" wide x 1.5" tall. They weigh approximately 5-6 ounces.
