30/2 silk is a finer version of the Kiku silk, in reeled hanks ready for dyeing. It is made from the cultivated silk from the cocoons of the silk moth Bombyx mori. This is a spun silk, giving it high luster, strength, and resilience. The natural color is a cream and it takes dye well using a dye like Washfast. The 30/2 silk is supple and strong for its size, making it a great choice for fine weight scarves and clothing fabric.

This yarn comes in a reeled hand that is typically wound into a ball before using. This process is easiest if you have a ball winder and swift.
