If you have an Ashford table loom with a stand, you are just four treadles away from having foot-controlled weaving. The treadles are mounted onto the Ashford stand and connected to the harnesses. Now you have direct tie-up, where treadle 1 lifts harness 1, treadle 2 lifts harness 2, etc. Only four treadles can be used so this is ideal for Ashford's 4-harness loom. With the 8-harness loom, you would control four harnesses with your feet and four with your hands.
