|A note from Brooklyn Tweed: "The second size used exactly 14 skeins, the fifth size used exactly 18 skeins, and the sixth sized used exactly 19 skeins. You may wish to consider purchasing an extra skein for safety due to variations in individual work." |
Bundle up in this chic cardigan that has a little touch of the duster silhouette about it. There is ribbing at the cuffs and lower edge but it doesn't draw the fabric in so you get a texture change without altering the lines of the garment. The cables take a little different path from the standard. On the front, they leave the center edges and veer toward the sleeve caps, leaving room for a unique ribbed neckline. On the back, they do the same, allowing the ribbing to make a deep V. The sweater is knit in pieces, and then seamed. Two options are given for joining the collar extensions at the back of the neck. Pockets are optional and are worked in place from picked-up stitches along the lower edge. The cabling is worked from large charts and is set against a background of moss stitch. Pitch was designed to be roomy, worn with 8-10" of ease. The finished chest measurements are 41 (45.5, 50, 53.5, 57, 62.5, 66)" with lengths of 30.25 (31.25, 32, 32.5, 32.5, 33, 33.5)". The sweater can be hand washed and dried flat. Brooklyn tweed rates this Emily Greene design as skill level 5 of 5 (advanced).
Pitch was designed using Brooklyn Tweed's Shelter, a worsted-weight wool and the first yarn designed by Brooklyn Tweed. It is a a woolen-spun yarn so it is lofty, for a lightweight but warm sweater. Wet blocking gives it a soft hand and slight fuzzy halo. Shelter is a worsted weight yarn and is knit at 4.5 stitches per inch in moss stitch in this design.
