Detailed Description

The Zinnia Wrap is a large-scale stole with unique blended colors in the weft. It uses 5/2 Rayon as the warp, sett at 15 epi. The weft is a Linello, a yarn that is marketed for knitters but does a bang-up job for weavers, too. It is a blend of linen, cotton, and rayon, which makes it ideal for a swingy summer shawl. It has a long color sequence, which creates bands of smoothly blended color in the weft. The threading and treadling sequences are short and easy to remember, making this an easy and fun project. Final dimensions are dictated by your warp loom waste but ours was 21.5" x 78" plus fringe. The wrap can be hand washed, tumbled briefly in the dryer, and then hung to dry.

You will need:

  • 2 cones 5/2 Rayon
  • 3 skeins Linello
  • 24" weaving width
  • 4 harnesses
  • 10 or 15 dent reed
  • 356 heddles
  • boat shuttles and bobbin

We wove our stole using 5/2 Rayon color Burgundy and Linello color 15 Sienna.
