"How will these colors look together?" We hear that question all the time. A good way to explore color interaction is with a color study gamp. In this version, we've used 18 colors that stripe both the warp and weft. Each color crosses itself and each of the other 17 colors, so you see each one interacting with all of the others. Weave structure can affect how the colors are perceived so, in this project, you'll weave two gamps--one in twill and one in plain weave.
For this project, we're using Nature Spun Sport, a 100% wool yarn from the Brown Sheep Company. It has a wide range of colors and we've selected ones from all around the color wheel plus some neutrals, so you see a wide range of interactions. The warp is sett at 12 epi and the weft is beaten at 12 ppi for plain weave and 12-15 ppi for twill.
