We love the showstopping textures of Watermark. The main chevron pattern that covers the back and front looks like one of our favorite weaving patterns. In addition, two different rib patterns frame the chevron sections. But it's not just the surface--Watermark's beauty goes down to its construction, with simple shaping, modified drop shoulders, and very handy patch pockets. The body is worked flat in one piece to the underarms, then stitches are worked separately for the upper front and back. The sleeves are worked in the round with the sleeve caps worked flat. The front bands and collar are worked as part of the two fronts and then they are joined at the back of the neck and sewn into place. Watermark is designed to be roomy, worn with 8-9" of ease. The finished chest measurements are 39.5 (43, 47.5, 51, 55.5, 59)" with lengths of 24.75 (25.5, 27, 27.75, 29.25, 30)". The sweater can be hand washed and dried flat. Brooklyn tweed rates this Jared Flood design as skill level 4 of 5 (adventurous intermediate).
Watermark uses Brooklyn Tweed's Shelter, a worsted-weight wool and the first yarn designed by Brooklyn Tweed. It is a a woolen-spun yarn so it is lofty and warm, with a soft hand and slight fuzzy halo after wet blocking. Shelter is a worsted weight yarn and is knit here at 5 stitches per inch in the Grid Stitch.
