Waffle weave is a textured structure that is often used in cotton or linen for kitchen items. When woven in wool, it makes a great blanket. The series of floats makes deep cells and a variation on the traditional tie-up ensures that the floats remain a manageable length even with a thicker yarn. The project uses Nature Spun Sport, a 100% wool yarn, sett at 16 epi. The kit makes one throw with finished dimensions of 40" x 68". The blanket can be hand washed and dried flat or the designer recommends dry cleaning to preserve the crispness of the structure.
