Detailed Description

Light as air? Almost! The whole scarf weighs just 2 ounces. The warp of 30/2 linen, sett at 20 epi, gives the fabric its structure, but there is lots of space for the hand-dyed alpaca weft to show off. This fluffy weft is Halo Watercolor, a brushed suri alpaca/nylon blend. Beating it at a very light 10 ppi means you can literally see through the fabric even though it is stable. The kit makes one scarf with finished dimensions of 9" x 79" plus fringe. It can be hand washed and air dried, with a brief tumble in the dryer to fluff the fabric.

You will need:

  • 30/2 Linen: 1 2-oz cone; Halo Watercolor: 1 skein
  • 9" weaving width
  • 2 harnesses
  • 10 dent reed
  • 180 heddles
  • boat shuttle and bobbin

We used 30/2 Linen color 50 Limestone and Halo Watercolor 766 Atlantis.
