Tones is all about color. Two heathered bases are used, one dark and one light. These two bases are overdyed in eleven different colors so there is a light and a dark version of each color. The light shade is bright and lively, while the dark is deep and muted. This sets up the perfect situation for easy colorwork combinations. Pair the light and dark of the same color, or two different darks with a contrasting light. Or the two undyed versions (901 and 902) with a dyed contrast. The sky is the limit!
Tones is a springy 3-ply wool that knits at a worsted weight. It is woolen spun, for a lightweight but warm yarn. After wet finishing, it has a plush surface with a subtle fuzzy halo. Like all Brooklyn Tweed yarns, it is produced entirely within the US. Want to see how it is made? You can see the process here.
