The tahkli spindle is often used to spin cotton or other short-staple fibers. It is a support spindle, so you spin it with the tip resting in a bowl or other surface. The shaft forms a hook at the upper end. This tahkli spindle measures 6" from tip to tip and weighs about half an ounce. The whorl measures approximately 1" across.
