Detailed Description

Tablet Weaving with John Mullarkey Coptic Diamonds

Oct. 4 (Sat.) 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. 1 day

Egyptian Diamonds were woven by Egyptians over 1000 years ago. Coptic bands with distinctive diamond patterns have been discovered and examined, and now we have these patterns we can draw inspiration from. Learn how to weave this distinctive pattern and create your own new patterns. This is an intermediate class, and you must have previous card weaving experience or be signed up for Ram's Horn. Materials and equipment not included.

No refunds or store credit for cancellations after Sept. 19 unless we find a replacement for you.

Please purchase your class supplies before the first day of class. You can order it online. Just be sure to include a message that we should hold the yarn at the store to pick up during class.

    Class supply list:

  • Inkle style loom like the Schacht Inkle Loom ($132) or the Ashford Inkle Loom ($133) The Ashford loom needs to be assembled, please order in advance so you have plenty of time to receive it and have it assembled by class time. Please note that the loom must be large enough to accommodate 4-hole tablet weaving cards that measure 3.25" square so the Ashford Inklette will not work.
  • 24 4-hole tablet weaving cards
  • One Schacht Belt Shuttle or Ashford Belt Shuttle
  • Four balls or cones of 10/2 perle cotton that are at least 1-ounce each:  three balls of one color, and one ball of a different highly contrasting color. There will not be time in class to wind off, so please come prepared with four yarn sources.
