Detailed Description

If you are just getting started in rigid heddle weaving, this is the project for you. The yarn is relatively thick, so the warp threads easily at 10 epi and you'll make quick weaving progress at 9 ppi in the weft. The warp is striped in two different cotton yarns: Pima 100, dyed in solid colors, and Verano, Malagribo's hand-dyed cotton that comes in tonal and speckled colors. The weft is just one color per towel, so it is quick and easy, but each towel has a different weft color, so you get a set of towels that are coordinated but not identical. The kit makes three hemmed towels with finished dimensions of 13" x 19".

You will need:

  • Pima 100: 1 skein each of 2 colors
  • Verano: 1 skein each of 2 colors
  • 15" weaving width
  • rigid heddle loom
  • 10-dent reed
  • flat shuttle
  • needle and thread or sewing machine for hemming

Our towels are woven using Pima 100 colors 8401 Magnolia and 8430 Acorn with Verano colors 920 Jay Blue and 913 Lime.
