This project began simply as a color combination that we loved. We found the colors in 16/2 cottolin and the rest fell into place. The yarn is fine, sett at 30 epi and woven at 36-40 ppi, but easy twill threading and treadling sequences help hasten the progress. The warp is striped and there is plenty of yarn included to play around with different striping patterns in the weft or you can use a single color of weft for extra speed. And the result is a set of towels that are absorbent and lightweight enough to get into the inside of a juice glass. The kit makes up to 8 hemmed towels with finished dimensions of 13.5" x 20". They can be machine washed and dried.

You will need:

• 1 8-oz tube each of 5 colors of 16/2 Cottolin
• 16.5" weaving width
• 8 harnesses
• 10 treadles
• 15- or 10-dent reed
• 491 heddles
• 1 boat shuttle
• 4-5 bobbins
• needle and thread for hemming

We used 16/2 Cottolin colors 101 White, 1425 Marine, 5067 Periwinkle, 1768 Pale Rose, and 5214 Magenta.
