These coats are as cute as can be. They are knit using Baby Blossom Chunky, a yarn that has been dyed so that it creates the look of bands of Fair Isle flowers without the work. It is a chunky weight so it knits here at a speedy 3.5 stitches per inch. The body is stockinette with garter stitch accents at the the lower edge, cuffs, and neck. The back, fronts, and sleeves are knit flat from the bottom up and then joined. For the crew neck version, stitches are picked up and worked for the neckband. For the hooded version, the hood is worked separately and sewn on. Loops and buttons secure the front. The coat is sized for newborns to 7 years with finished chest measurements of 17.25 (19.34, 22, 24, 25.25 27.5)" and finished lengths of 9 (9.75, 10.75, 12, 13.5, 14.5)".Baby Blossom Chunky is made of 70% acrylic and 30% nylon fiber so it can be machine washed and dried flat.
