Sapphire is knit in moss stitch, which gives the fabric a pebbly texture. The back and two fronts are worked separately and then sewn together. Stitches are picked up at the armholes to make the sleeve cuffs and neck bands. Because of the dolman sheeve shaping, the chest measurement is quite forgiving but difficult to measure. The finished waist measurements are 32.5 (36, 40.5, 44.5, 48.5, 52.5, 56.5, 60.5, 64.5, 68.5, 72.5, 76.5)" with finished lengths of 17.5 (18, 18.75, 19.25, 20, 20.75, 21.25, 22, 22.75, 23.25, 24, 24.5)". Sapphire is designed for Berroco's Vivo, a 100% cotton yarn with a fun thick-and-thin texture. It is a variegated yarn with a long color sequence, so the summery colors blend into one another. It knits at a DK weight and is knit at 5.5 stitches per inch in moss stitch in this sweater.
