Calling all fans of colorwork--we've got your new project! Kaffe Fassett's Sampler scarf is a riot of color and pattern. The whimsical motifs of flowers, houses, and geometric shapes are rendered in bright shades of Rowan's Felted Tweed. This is a project that will test your skills and eyesight, as it uses both intarsia and Fair Isle techniques and a complex chart for the colorwork. Are you ready for the challenge? If so, you'll be rewarded with a 9.75" x 75 scarf that is seamed on the back as a tube so there is no wrong side visible. Nothing but beautiful, colorful knitting!
Sampler is knit using a Rowan yarn that we love: Felted Tweed. It is a blend of 50% Merino wool, 25% alpaca, and 25% viscose spun into a lofty yarn with a slight halo to the finished fabric. It has a soft hand and beautiful tweeded colors. Best of all, it can be machine washed and dried flat. It is a DK weight yarn that is knit at 6.5 stitches per inch in stockinette in this project.
The kit includes the yarn and the complete pattern book Kaffe Fassett's Winter Vintage. For this project you will also need:
- single point needles in US size 5 (OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE)
- single point needles in US size 3
- tapestry needle
