Rowlock has a boxy, casual fit and a sporty cropped length. The surface is a pattern of fine lines of purls and tiny cable twists against a stockinette background, which makes it look like a tile floor. There is minimal shaping so you can concentrate on the patterning. The back, front, and sleeves are knit separately and then sewn together. Stitches are picked up at the neck and worked circularly for the neck band. The patterning is worked following a chart.
The model is shown wearing Rowlock with a roomy fit of 11.75" of ease. Finished chest measurements are 38.75 (42.25, 45.75, 49.25, 52.75, 56.25, 59.75, 63.25)" with finished lengths of 19.75 (20.25, 21.25, 22.25, 23, 23.75, 24)". The sweater can be hand washed and dried flat. Brooklyn Tweed has assigned this Nora Gaughan design a skill level rating of 3 out of 5 (intermediate).
Rowlock is made in Arbor, a DK-weight yarn from Brooklyn Tweed. It is made using three worsted-spun plies of US-raised Targhee wool that are firmly twisted together, creating a smooth yarn with excellent stitch definition. Rowlock makes great use of this with its pronounced surface texture!
