We designed this scarf to be simple, rugged, and handsome. It was woven on a rigid heddle loom, which gives maximum woven length from the warp, but it could also be woven on a loom with harnesses-just expect the scarf to be a little shorter due to the loom waste. The warp uses Rowan's Felted, a tweedy blend of Merino wool, alpaca, and viscose. The scarf has accent stripes of Nature Spun Sport, a 100% wool 3-ply yarn. The weaving couldn't be easier but the scarf doesn't seem too plain thanks to the texture of the Felted Tweed and the stripe accents. The finished dimensions are 6.5" x 68" or longer if you wish. It can be hand washed and dried flat.

You will need:

• 7.5" weaving width
• 12 dent rigid heddle (or 12.5 for a slightly narrower scarf)
• 1 boat shuttle and 2 bobbins or 2 flat shuttles

We wove our sample in colorway Navy-Red, using Felted Tweed color 150 Rage and Nature Spun Sport 147 True Blue Navy. We also created other color combinations to offer.
