This rug evolved from a larger version that we made using the same yarns but different colors. We decided that we needed a slimmer, longer version to use as a runner. This is warp-faced plain weave, so almost all of the color that you see is from the warp yarns of Quebecoise wool. Two wefts, a heavy one made from three strands of Quebecoise and a fine one made of Cotton 8/4, are visible only at the edges of the rug. The warp ends wrap around the wefts and enclose them. The kit makes a runner measuring approximately 21.5" x 54.5" plus fringe. It can be spot cleaned and, if necessary, hand washed.

You will need:

• Quebecoise: 6 skeins main color; 2 skeins each of 2 additional colors
• Cotton 8/4: 1 tube
• 22" weaving width
• 4 harnesses
• 6 dent reed
• 264 heddles
• 1 flat, ski, or rag shuttle
• 1 additional shuttle, any style

Our runner uses Quebecoise 25 Plum as the main color, with 14 Orange and 23 Magenta as the secondary colors. The fine weft is Cotton 8/4 color 4273 Dark Purple.
