Active twills with lots of direction changes make very intricate-looking designs. Choosing contrasting colors heightens the effect and makes an elaborate, ornate design. We've put this to use in a table runner woven in 5/2 perle cotton. It is sett at 18 epi in the warp and there is just one weft so there is only one shuttle to handle. The finished measurements are 14" x 65". The runner can be hand washed and dried flat.
You will need:
- 5/2 perle cotton: 2 mini cones in warp color; 1 mini cone in weft color
- 17” weaving width
- 8 harnesses
- 12-dent reed
- 297 heddles
- boat shuttle and bobbins
Our runner uses 5/2 perle in 29 Old Gold for the warp and 63 Yale Blue for the weft.
