Quechua is a luxurious blend of Merino wool, baby alpaca, and yak fiber. It is spun with a smooth, almost sleek surface that shows lace floats beautifully so we designed a huck lace project for it. Three wintry colors stripe the warp and weft, making squares. The lace makes squares inside of squares! The kit makes one shawl measuring approximately 15" x 73". It can be hand washed and air dried.
You will need:
- 17" weaving width
- 8 harnesses
- 12-dent reed
- 204 heddles
- boat shuttle and 3 bobbins
We wove our shawl in Quechua color 1345 Blue as the main color with 1321 Mustard and 1323 Rust as the accents.
