By Martha L Benson and Laura Lyon Redford. The two authors of this book are weavers who examine the collection of coverlets at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History from the perspective of working weavers. They analyze many of the patterns used, as well as the types of yarn or fabric used. In some cases, the owner and weaver are known and information is given regarding the history of the piece and even photographs of the people and places involved. Overshot coverlets, jacquard coverlets, and quilts are included, with color photographs of each piece. Modern drafts with drawdowns are given at the back of the book for many of the overshot patterns shown.
