INTRODUCTION TO INTARSIA KNITTING

Intarsia is the technique for knitting blocks of color. Learn to handle multiple colors, to avoid holes when changing colors, and to read intarsia charts while making a fun party bunting. By Mary Mortensen.

Class supply list:

• Download and print the Party Bunting (free) from Ravelry. We can do that for you if you are not able to at home.
• Two or more colors of DK weight yarn (cotton, wool, and wool blends). You can use worsted weight, but your triangles will be bigger.
• US 5 or 6 for DK weight and US 7 or 8 for worsted weight
• Blunt tapestry needle
• Scissors

Please complete the homework before class.

With one of your chosen yarns, cast on 31 stitches. Knit 4 rows. Leave your stitches on the needle.

PARKING: The parking garage is located at 927 New Hampshire Street. Top level parking is free. Level 2 parking is $2.00 to park 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Street level and basement level parking is limited to 2 hours. Pay stations are located at each stairwell on the street level. Sunday parking is free downtown.
