Sometimes you need just a small rug for in front of your door or kitchen sink. We've adapted our large Midcentury Modern Rug to make a smaller mat but it still retains the fun colorwork that made the rug so popular. The kit makes one hemmed mat with finished dimensions of 22" x 38". It can be spot cleaned and, if necessary, hand washed and air dried.

For our warp, we chose 100% cotton 8/4 Carpet Warp. The weft is 100% wool Quebecoise. Qubecoise is just the right weight to weave a sturdy rug but still allow for fine detail. It comes in lots of colors so you can customize your rug kit!

You will need:

• Quebecoise: 3 skeins main color; 1 skein each of three accent colors
• 1 tube 8/4 Carpet Warp
• 22" weaving width
• 4 harnesses
• 12 dent reed
• 254 heddles
• 4 flat, ski, or rag shuttles

Our mat was woven using Quebecoise 99 Black as the main color, with accents of 47 Turquoise, 62 Pink Pearl, and 84 Brick. The carpet warp color is 13 Black.
