Get to know overshot by making this lap blanket using a wool warp and tabby weft with an alpaca/wool blend pattern weft. The design itself is a series of concentric ovals but the color changes used in the warp, tabby, and pattern yarns create a series of squares in a variety of color combinations. The blanket looks great by itself but can also be an inspiration for color combinations for your next overshot project.
The warp and tabby weft are Shetland from Harrisville Designs. This is a 100% wool yarn made in the U. S. and we've sett it at 16 epi. The pattern weft is Berroco's Ultra Alpaca, a blend of 50% super fine alpaca and 50% wool. Using these together makes a blanket that is warm and weighty.
