Nestle into a luscious cabled scarf that keeps the wind out and shows off your cable skills. Maremma plays with a variety of cables, from pairs of twisted stitches to the large mermaid's tail at each end. The work is done following a series of six charts. The finished measurements, after blocking, are 10" wide x 73" long. Maremma can be hand washed and dried flat. Brooklyn Tweed has assigned this Norah Gaughan design a skill level rating of 3 out of 5 (intermediate).
Maremma is knit in Arbor, Brooklyn Tweed's DK weight 3-ply wool. Arbor is worsted-spun for crisp stitch definition and a springy feel. In Maremma, it is knit at 5.5 stitches per inch in stockinette after blocking.
The kit includes the pattern and yarn. For this project you will also need:
- single point needles in US size 6 (OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE)
- cable needle
- T-pins and blocking wires (optional)

Maremma is shown in Arbor color 466 Sashiko. If you would like your scarf to be in this color, simply order above. If you would like to pick your own color, see our Arbor page to view the options. Then return to this page, order the kit, and tell us your color choice in the box above.
