What do you do when you've created the color line for a new yarn? Design a cowl to show off the colors, of course! Spanish knitwear designer Lucia Ruiz de Aguirre collaborated with Wooldreamers in creating the color palette of Dehesa de Barrera. In Maarly, she pairs two of these colors in a zippy colorwork pattern. To make this cowl, you'll need to be able to do a provisional cast-on, knit colorwork in the round following a chart, pick up stitches, and bind off using the kitchener stitch. The cowl measures 26.75" around and 8.25" deep. It can be hand washed and dried flat.
Dehesa de Barrera Fingering is a Merino wool from Spain. Its wool is produced by a single flock and the processing of the wool is certified Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX, guaranteeing that it is produced without toxic chemicals. The yarn is springy, with a smooth surface that shows off colorwork, so it is perfect for Maarly. It is knit at 7 stitches per inch for this project.
The kit includes the pattern and yarn. You will also need:
- 16" circular needle in US size 4 (OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE)
