Gianna's slow color transitions are on full display in this sweater that features stockinette knitting in two directions. The front and back are knit vertically while the side panels and sleeves are knit horizontally. Slip stitches at the hem, cuffs, and neckline add fun detail. The finished chest measurements are (32, 36, 40) [44, 48, 52, 56] {60, 64, 68}" with finished lengths of (21.5, 21.5, 22.5) [22.5, 23.5, 23.5, 23.5] {23.5, 24.5, 24.5}". Lora's designer, Alison Green, recommends an oversized fit with 6-12" of positive ease. This sweater can be hand washed and dried flat. Berroco has rated this design as requiring intermediate-level skills.
Gianna, by Berroco, is a blend of 46% Merino wool, 26% cotton, 14% baby alpaca, and 14% silk. These flibers are blended together and then made into a lofty chainette yarn. The yarn is dyed with a long color sequence that creates shades of color that blend from one to another. All you do is knit--the yarn does the colorwork for you! Gianna is a worsted wieght yarn that is knit at 4.5 stitches per inch in this project.
