One of the many appealing features of a kimono is its easy construction. Ours is made of four rectangles from one warp. That's it. The fabric is woven in plain weave, using three colors of Rayon Slub as the warp, sett at 16 epi, and one of those colors for the weft. You simply weave a single length of fabric, then follow our instructions for cutting and sewing the pieces. The kit makes one kimono with finished dimensions of approximately 64" from front edge, around the back, to the opposite selvedge and length of 32" from the shoulder. It can be hand washed and dried flat, with a short tumble in the dryer to restore the drape.

You will need:

• 20" weaving width
• 2 harnesses
• 8 dent reed
• 320 heddles
• 1 boat shuttle
• 1 bobbin
• sewing machine recommended for assembly

We used Rayon Slub in Brilliant Blue for the main color, with Curry and Gold as the accents. If you would like these colors, simply order the kit above.
