Loft is Brooklyn Tweed's fingering weight yarn. It is woolen spun, designed to be extremely lightweight and lofty, for warm but light fabrics. It has a slightly fuzzy surface, with occasional thick and thin areas and a bit of vegetable matter from time to time--evidence of Loft's minimal processing. Because of the way it is spun, Loft can work at a variety of gauges, from as many as 8 stitches per inch for a dense fabric to 6 for a openwork design.

Loft comes in a reeled hank which must be wound before use. Because the yarn is spun for maximum loft, it is more delicate than many commercially produced yarns. Brooklyn Tweed recommends that you wind the skeins by hand as you need them to avoid breakage and preserve the yarn's elasticity.
