Here is an easy project for the new rigid heddle weaver. The warp is striped in two colors of a shiny bamboo/cotton blend sett at 12 epi. The weft is a thick-and-thin textured yarn made from bamboo, wool, and acrylic. It is so thick that you'll make fast progress, beating at 7 to 8 picks per inch. And the textured weft means the edges will not look uniform, so you can allow yourself to practice weaving without obsessing about your edges. The runner is 15" x 70" plus fringe and can be hand washed and dried flat, with a short tumble in the dryer to fluff the fabric.

You will need:

• 15" weaving width
• 12 or 12.5 dent rigid heddle
• 1 flat shuttle

We wove our runner using Bamboo Pop colors 115 Silken and 105 Grape with a color of Bamboo Bloom Handpaint that is no longer being made. We're suggesting color 304 as the closest substitute.
