The Leclerc rag shuttle does double duty: you can remove the rod and use it as a rag shuttle, or put a bobbin on the rod and use it as a boat shuttle. There is a hole in one side to feed out the weft if you are using it as a boat shuttle. The rod is long enough for two or more bobbins when weaving with several weft strands. The shuttle is made of maple and come in two sizes: 15" or 22".
