Overshot is a traditional choice for coverlets but it is versatile enough to be used at a very different scale. Here, we've taken a design called Mohawk Valley Roses and woven it using very fine yarns to make an elegant, supple scarf. The warp is 16/2 Bamboo sett at 30 epi. This same yarn is the tabby weft and the pattern weft is 8/2 Bamboo. The weaving requires two shuttles (one for each weft) and is not speedy at 60 picks per inch, but it is a great way to practice precision weaving. The design is reversible, with the darker color dominant on one side and the lighter one on the other. The finished scarf is approximately 7.25" x 67". It can be hand washed and dried flat.
