We don't know whether "Lady Liberty" refers to the color of this sweater or its freedom from a restrictive collar! The chunky cable on the front integrates with the stockinette at the neck to create a rolled, slightly ruffled mock turtleneck. That same cable is worked on the set-in sleeves but the back is plain stockinette. The cable is knit following written instructions. The front, back, and sleeves are worked separately and then sewn together. Stitches are picked up and knit in stockinette and cable for the mock turtleneck. Finished chest measurements are 36.5 (40.5, 45, 49, 52.5, 56.5)" with finished lengths of 22 (23, 24, 25, 26, 27)". Tahki has rated this Shaina Bilow design as an intermediate level project.
This sweater is designed for Tucson, Tahki's Aran weight blend of 52% cotton and 48% wool. It has a great thick-and-thin texture that looks casual and relaxed. Tucson can be hand washed and dried flat.
