By Wendy Bernard. What sets this book apart from other stitch dictionaries is that it addresses the differences that are relevant when you are adapting a stitch repeat to a piece knitted in the round as opposed to flat or top-down instead of bottom-up. The book contains 150 stitch patterns for textures, cables, lace, and color work. Each has written instructions for working the pattern in the four different ways, as well as one or more charts. A color photograph shows a finished swatch of the pattern. In addition, there are six patterns for finished pieces using some of the stitch patterns. These include a seersucker stitch pullover, a ribbed wrap, figerless mittens with a textured stitch, a cabled hat, lacey camisole, and mosaic stitch cowl.
