This knitting class is suitable for knitters who have been actively knitting and would like to expand their technical skills. If you know how to knit, but it has been a few years since you picked up needles and yarn, please take the Introduction to Knitting class first.

Introduction to Slip Stitches & Mosaic Knitting

Mar. 7 (Sat.) 1-3 p.m. 1 day

Slip Stitch patterns are an easy way to add color and texture to your project. You will learn how to read charts, including mosaic charts, and will sample multiple slip stitch patterns. By Mary Mortensen.

Supplies to bring, all of which are available at the Yarn Barn:

  • Smooth worsted weight yarn in a light color that is a wool or wool blend in two highly contrasting colors like Encore. You will need approximately 60 yards of each color.
  • US 8 or 5 mm needles; circular or single point
  • Pen or pencil
  • Scissors
  • Stitch markers
  • Row counter

PARKING: The parking garage is located at 927 New Hampshire Street. Top level parking is free. Level 2 parking is $2.00 to park 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Street level and basement level parking is limited to 2 hours. Pay stations are located at each stairwell on the street level. Sunday parking is free downtown.
