INTERMEDIATE HARNESS WEAVING

The weaving classes listed below are designed for those who have threaded a 4-harness loom, can follow a draft and weave independently.

WIFFLIN' WITH WAFFLE WEAVE

Waffles aren't just for breakfast! Waffle weave is a textured fabric that has deep cells that look like squares in waffles. Join us to learn how to use this structure to make a table runner. You will bring a pre-wound 2-yard warp to thread on a 4-harness and weave during class. Learn how to maintain your picks per inch in the weft and understand how you can expand the waffle cells by using more harnesses. You will only need one cone of 4/2 Ad Astra Cotton for the project, and we'll provide a couple of accent colors to embellish your weft. By Susan Bateman.

LINEN AND SILK? HUCK YEAH!

Learn how to feel comfortable working with a linen warp. In this class we will use linen and silk to create a beautiful scarf that features a row of huck lace squares. Linen is often the unforgiving yarn. This class is aimed at getting weavers to feel empowered to work with linen as warp by providing guidance, tips and strategies specifically for this intimidating fiber. You will use 2/9 French linen at 24 epi in the warp and 20/2 silk in the weft in 2 contrasting colors. Your scarf will be approximately 8" x 72." You are welcome to bring your own 4-harness loom with a 12-dent reed, but our looms are available to use during class. By Olivia Mills.

TOOLIN' AROUND WITH DOUBLE WEAVE

Double weave is a handy technique to know to create double wide fabric. It is also a useful technique for making pockets and tubes in fabric. We will wind the warp, and you will learn how to sley and thread the loom for double weave using 3/2 Perle cotton. Learn how to identify two layers of warp and weft and how to shift the layers to create open-and closed- sided pockets to hold your shuttles, pick-up sticks, and other tools you want to hang right next to your loom. You will need 4 colors of 3/2 Perle cotton to use in the warp and weft. Project yarns not included. By Katie Werner.

No refunds/credit for cancelations after April 10 unless we find a replacement for you.

As an introduction to our Tencel, learn to weave the Maxi Scarf pattern designed by Melissa Parsons. You need 4 cones of Little Dipper (8/2) to make this scarf.
